Pineapple, Jerk Chicken, Mac & Cheese..Yes Please!

Long time friends Joel Bolden and Chris Morgan have created a Texas Style BBQ restaurant with all the right accents. Opening in 2013, Morgans has slowly become one of the best BBQ restaurants on Flatbush that is not only family friendly but also has an incredible menu that incorporates the diversity of the neighborhood.

This week I had the opportunity to have lunch at Morgans and sample some of their best sellers. I started with their Fatty Brisket ($24) which was slow-cooked to perfection. I always suggest ordering briskets that are fatty because the fat keeps the meat from becoming too dry and also adds flavor.

Now that we have the traditional dish out of the way, let me explain just why you need to use all of your weight-watchers points to try this dish. So Come close…closer..there is a Jamaican Jerk Mac ($8) that is trying to actively change your life. What makes this side unique is the mixture of flavors. First,  the jerk chicken is marinated in scotch bonnet peppers which makes it spicy but not overwhelming, the consistency of the mac is great and not extremely creamy, but what compliments this dish the most is the coconut crusted layer over the mac and of course the grilled Pineapple.
